Presentation title: You don't need devs to do devops Summary: Devops is a set of practices that aim to bring together Developers and IT Operations, and the goal is to shorten development lifecycle and bring IT in closer alignment with business goals. So does it make sense to talk about Devops practitioning when the "only" thing we do is operate infrastructure or hardware? Yes - because modern system operation is becoming more and more about development - infrastructure as code is a term that describes how we increasingly are using development practises to configure IT systems. In this talk, I will discuss why and how Devops matter for IT operation teams, and I will illustrate by bringing in examples from our experiences in building a distributed hybrid storage cloud in Sweden. Presenter: Anders is an infrastructure engineer at the Nordic infrastructure provider Safespring. Before that, he spent years in different technical and management positions at a large Norwegian university where he worked with everything from config management on Unix servers to end-user computing, mobile platforms, project management to virtual desktop infrastructure. When he’s not engineering stuff, he spends time organising DevOpsDays in Oslo and Stockholm. +++++ Presentation title: A story about Nordix and the Open²Stack HW Project... Summary: As we all know, OpenStack is great, but how do you get started as quickly and easily as possible? I don't claim to have all the answers, but in order to get the hardware side going, I would like to present the Open OpenStack HW Project (or Open^2Stack HW Project for short) which is one of Nordix new projects. The idea is to collect a solid HW foundation for new OpenStack deployments based on best practices seen in the field. Our hope is that this can then be improved upon and branched out into several HW designs based on different use cases. Oh, and Nordix is a new non-profit with the purpose of spreading the message about all things open source as wide and far as possible. I'll talk a bit about Nordix too. Vi ønsker å presentere våre løsninger og dele vår erfaring. Presenter: Sverre Stoltenberg: Jobbet siste fem år med infrastruktur hos meteorologisk institutt. Tidligere jobbet 13 år som Senior sysadmin i (gode gamle) Opera Software. Oppdaget Ultrix og Emacs i 1993, Linux i 1994, og openstack i 2012. Dyrker humle på balkongen, og brygger øl på kjøkkenet (når kona er borte).
