Description: One often-overlooked factor in code optimization is the sustainability aspect. The driver for optimizing your code to demands as little resources as possible is usually performance. This has become less of a factor when we are talking of servers in datacenters instead of small embedded devices. There are usually lots of computing power to spare. A far more important issue today is the power demand aspect as climate change are the biggest global threat to humanity. Every time you open and look at your smartphone you contribute to climate impact, datacenters have a higher impact on carbon emissions than air traffic. We will look at what drives lots of power in relation to studies on reference architectures and the impact of code optimization in relation to power demand. I have a background as a developer in mobility, especially Symbian and Android. Unfortunately I happened to be good at security, especially social engineering, and ended up being appointed CSO. My CEO told me that my life was not over by being appointed CSO, just the parts that is fun. Great believer in digitalisation, compliance and sustainability. And yes they do not need to be mutually exclusive, here come the challenge and the answer is Open Source. Description: Vi berättar om hur en operationsavdelning tog ansvar för att leverera Containers as a Service. Därmed fick man en mer integrerad DevOps-process och frigjorde tid för utvecklarna att utveckla applikationer med snabbare Time to Market som resultat. Speaker: Anders Nilsson, Konsultchef, RTS. Bio: Tog en Civilingenjörsexamen i Lund 1998 och startade sedan en lång internationell karriär. Började hos Procter & Gamble för att sedan vara med i den första generationens molnföretag, Loudclod och EDS. Anders byggde efter denna sejour upp VMwares Professional Services organisationen i Europa. Återvände år 2008 hem till Sverige och startade då upp PMCG som ett dotterbolag till RTS.
