Description: Kubernetes was always meant to be an orchestrator for applications, a platform for platforms and mainly for cloud native, microservice based apps. This talk will be on how to build a platform using leading open-source software to automate and speed up the push of your apps to dev, test and prod while maintaining high level security. We will also have a look at what this can look like. Speaker: Mattias Söderberg, Lead Solutions Engineer Tanzu. Bio: Mattias Soderberg has been working at Vmware the last 5 years. During that time he’s been working in the Modern Apps Bu, VMware Tanzu, where the focus is mainly on Run, Build & Manage cloud native/modern apps. His and the Tanzu Team’s focus is on everything Kubernetes and Open Source for Modern Apps and Platforms. +++++++++++++++++++ Title: OVN as the new Software Defined Network solution for OpenStack and Kubernetes. Description: For quite some time OpenStack Neutron has mainly been relying on a pure OVS implementation to provide SDN functions to OpenStack, while this implementation has been providing a lot of the required features in an easy way to implement it came with multiple drawbacks. In the past years we've been developing a new abstraction layer above OpenVSwitch which has greatly simplified and made it easier to scale the Software Defined Network part of OpenStack. This new de facto standard for both OpenStack and Kubernetes is OVN. Speaker: Thibaut Lapierre - Senior Specialist Solution Architect at Red Hat. Bio: Working with OpenStack since the Folsom release in 2012, I have been a developer for an enterprise OpenStack distribution, a consultant for a telecom company and now a Specialist Solution Architect at Red Hat for 4 years, I specialise in OpenStack and OpenShift infrastructure and virtualisation. On the weekends you can almost always find me Skydiving (Freefly and Wingsuiting). I am now based in France but spent the past 15years living in Canada, Ireland and the Netherlands. +++++++++++++++++++ Title: The history of logging. Description: Syslog is one of the oldest IP protocols still in use. Can we trust our logs today and what have we learned from history? Speaker: Per-Erik Persson, systemutvecklare Linux. Bio: Jag har arbetat med Linux, infrastruktur, systemutveckling och säkerhet på olika myndigheter sedan förra årtusendet.
